Hi All,
Hope you will enjoy this new blog. Aeolus is in Vuda Point Marina just off Lautoka in Fiji. We have been in Fiji since August coming from Pago Pago in American Samoa. We decided to stay in Fiji during the cyclone season just making a trip to Australia during Christmas and New Year.
Waiting in a marina is not necessarily fun, but that's life and the cyclone season ends in April! However, we have a few friends from Banderas Bay around us (Gary on Dash, Bill & Tracy on Zephyr and Terry & Christine on Tika Nova). While the rain is dripping we anxiously look at weather maps tracking a prospective, cyclone which is developing over New Caledonia!
Aeolus is going fine. We had a new engine bed installed by Baobab Marine and next week, weather permitting, we will get the boat up and a new shaft installed. Hopefully all the vibration trouble we have had with the engine will be gone. Future plans? Something happened approaching the Australian coast. Why go back? Our plans are now to head NE to Samoa and then S to Tonga. It is hard to skip a coconut milk addiction!
